The training it takes to become a future healthcare professional in any of our majors, is challenging for students. They must learn to balance caring for their patients, with being a human. Nursing faculty know all too well that winding down the semester are some of the most stressful times for our students. This is why our Winter Visitor was a fun way to bring some cheer to our students as they finish out the semester. Joined by Ball State Nurse Barbie, our winter visitor got into some fun in the simulation lab. Students weighed in to name him, Wenckebach.
Dani Ely, Director of Nursing Simulation Technology Center said of the project, “The winter visitor allows us to connect humor with our human-side. Being a nursing student is a serious role as clinical hours must be fulfilled and final exams completed; however, taking a moment to enjoy the humor within the human experience helps us remember to appreciate the little things that can bring joy, even in difficult times.”
