Dr. Jeanne Sheehan Corcoran

She is the Interim Chair of SPAA and Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the College of Health at Ball State University is also a consultant for the Registry. Her business, Corcoran Higher Ed. Solutions, LLC was established in November of 2019. when she retired from Salem State University in Massachusetts after twenty years at that institution.
Jeanne was hired by Salem State in 1999 to co-create and establish the Occupational Therapy Program. Jeanne served as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in addition to being a professor, followed by Department Chair for eight years, and Interim Dean for the College of Health & Human Services for over three years which included overseeing nursing, criminal justice, social work, occupational therapy and health care studies. Dr. Corcoran’s highlighted areas of expertise include program development, accreditation, faculty leadership development and cultivating student professional development.
Jeanne grew up in Milton, Massachusetts coming from a family of five girls. She has one son Matthew who is finishing his doctorate in Music at the University of Oklahoma. She has two cats, enjoys travel, cooking and sports, especially all New England teams.

Dr. Lawrence Judge

Dr. Lawrence Judge currently serves as the Senior Research Fellow in the College of Health Dean’s Office. He is also a Professor of Kinesiology and the Coordinator of the Online Graduate Coaching Program. Previously, he served as the Interim Chair of the Social Work Department and as the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Programs and Academic Affairs in the School of Kinesiology from 2015 to 2022.
Dr. Judge boasts an extensive research portfolio, with over 200 publications in leading journals and numerous presentations at prestigious national conferences. His collaborative efforts, especially with the Department of Social Work, underscore his dedication to advancing academic knowledge. In recognition of his contributions to teaching, he was honored as the 2023 Fred Wilt Educator of the Year by United States Track and Field. Additionally, Dr. Judge has made significant service contributions at the national level, serving as the Track and Field Throws coach for the U.S. Paralympic team at the 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and 2020 Tokyo Games.

Dr. Karrie Osborne

Dr. Karrie Osborne is a dedicated nurse and educator with over 20 years of practice experience and 12 years of experience in academic teaching. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ball State University and her PhD in nursing from Loyola University in Chicago in 2022. Dr. Osborne practiced as a Registered Nurse at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for 20 years, mainly in the critical care areas. She began teaching at Ball State University in 2013 and has taught in courses across the undergraduate nursing curriculum. Dr. Osborne spent 8 years in academic administration, serving as the Director of Clinical Simulation for the College of Health from 2019-2023 and as the Director of the Nursing SITC for 3 years prior to that. She has been very involved with a variety of academic committees and with Interprofessional Education initiatives within the College of Health. Her main research interests are related to the student experience in learning and in nursing school. She is passionate about finding ways to better support students and prepare them for the nursing profession.

Dr. Greta Slater

Greta Slater, Department Chair of the Department of Social Work and Associate Professor of Social Work joined the faculty in 2004.
She earned. her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Manchester University in 1992, an MSW from University of Kentucky in 1995, a PhD from Indiana University in 2005, and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) in 2017. She has been a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) since 1999 and her practice background centers around trauma and post-traumatic growth. She has worked with victims of intimate partner violence, families involved with child protective services, people who have experienced sexual trauma (across the lifespan), adolescent sexual offenders, and older adult victims of abuse and neglect. Her research has focused on self-care, suicide, and improving social work education. Most recently she has been working with Volunteers of America to evaluate the FreshStart residential opioid addiction program for mothers and children. She loves teaching practice classes and research. She is an item-writer for the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) national licensing exams and have been involved in multiple projects since 2008. She cares deeply about social work, social work credentialing, accreditation, and assessment of student outcomes. Her hobbies include triathlon (two-time Ironwoman), traveling and playing outside with her husband, three kids, and their Jack Russell terrier.
