Located in BC 153, tucked away near the loading dock and close to the studios, a larger and more open space is open to accommodate our robust programs.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"freebirdAnalyticsViewAnalyticsItem\" data-container=\"1473245911\" data-fieldid=\"203831241\">\n<div class=\"freebirdAnalyticsViewAnalyticsHover\">\n<div class=\"freebirdAnalyticsViewAnalyticsContainer\">\n<div id=\"c272\" class=\"freebirdAnalyticsViewChartContainer\" data-chart=\"1473245911\" data-fieldid=\"203831241\">\n<div class=\"freebirdCommonAnalyticsTextResponsesContainer\">\n<div data-chart=\"1473245911\" data-fieldid=\"203831241\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">***\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Who can check stuff out?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The equipment checkout works under a three-tier system, but don&#8217;t worry there&#8217;s equipment for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The most common equipment to be checked out falls under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsu.edu\/academics\/collegesanddepartments\/media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Media&#8217;s<\/a> section. There are three whole rooms full of high-tech equipment. The starting package for this department <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1897 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/10\/06132928\/IMG_5088.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"272\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/10\/06132928\/IMG_5088.jpg 750w, https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/10\/06132928\/IMG_5088-249x300.jpg 249w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 272px) 100vw, 272px\" \/>runs a whopping $7,000! Considering the high price tag on these devices only students enrolled in a qualifying production class can check these out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The same goes for anything under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsu.edu\/academics\/collegesanddepartments\/sjsc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Journalism and Strategic Communication<\/a>. Only students in a qualifying journalism class can check things out from this section. They have about one room worth of equipment focusing more on high-end lenses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">There is a variety of equipment available to all CCIM students as well. To check out, all you need is a Ball State ID. This equipment falls under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsu.edu\/about\/administrativeoffices\/university-media-services\/mediaservices\/equipmentcheckout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United Media Services (UMS)<\/a> and they have a room full as well. Equipment check-outs are for 1 business day so if checked out on a Friday, you&#8217;ll get it all weekend to be creative!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Equipment<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">There&#8217;s something for everyone with rooms full of every tech item possible. Here are just a few featured items available to everyone:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Camera:<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sony NX5 camera with Tripod<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sony 430 camera with Tripod<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sony HDV camera<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Lighting:<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">3 point light kits<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rifa 44 kit<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">DP kit<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Audio:<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Zoom H4n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Zoom H2n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Handheld Mics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Lavalier Mics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Wireless Mic<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Other:<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Misc. Tripods<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">FMU unit<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Headphones<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We provide batteries for DSLR, PD-150\/170, EX-3, and Nx5 cameras only. Not a problem. Finding your way can be a little confusing if you&#8217;ve never been before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">First head down the hall towards the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsu.edu\/map\/buildings\/campus\/ball-communication-building\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ball Communications<\/a> building on the first floor. Then you&#8217;ll see a hallway that goes off to the right, turn down that hallway. Follow it down until you see room numbers in the 150s. That&#8217;s where you&#8217;ll see it, off to the right down a short hallway you&#8217;ll see an open garage-like area. Head there and inside is BC 153!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Warning<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>All students are held liable for the equipment checkout, which if you remember can be up to or over 7,000 dollars!
