- Ball State University’s College of Communication, Information, and Media (CCIM) is excited to announce a series of exciting changes inspired by the college’s quest for innovation.

As Ball State TCOM prepares to change its name, we want you to share your TCOMemories with us.
TCOM alumna Tiara Thomas won Song of the Year at the Grammy’s with R&B singer-songwriter H.E.R. for the 2020 single they co-wrote, “I Can’t Breathe,” which became an anthem of the Black Lives Matter movement.
News grad Scott Adkins was named one of Nashville Business Journal’s 40 under 40 in January. Scott is president, founder, and CEO of Adkins Publicity in Nashville, TN.
Several alumni films received honors at the 2021 Hoosier Film Festival. “What a Tiger Wishes” was directed by alumnus Chris T.W. Anderson and produced by alumni Abigail Urbik and Erica Metzler as part of a TCOM independent study in 2019. Chris earned a Best Cinematographer award for his work on the film.
Listen to alumnus Michael Stevens, Operations Manager of Video Engineering for the Indianapolis Colts, on the Sports Video Group Podcast talk about building an in-venue show during this year’s unique stadium environment.
Don Yaeger, 84′ graduate and New York Times Best Seller, has a new podcast from Our Call to Beneficence, with President Mearns that discusses his youth, mentors, and career.

BSU Computer Science team wins Best Pedagogy Paper Award at IACIS 2021.
Five TCOM and TCOM/Journalism double majors earned 2021 Indiana Broadcast Foundation Scholarships.

TCOM and Journalism students and recent grads won 21 awards spanning 17 categories at the 2021 Indiana Association of School Broadcasters College Competition Awards. Ball State also kept the title of Television School of the Year for the 4th year in a row.

BSU Journalism Hall of Famer, Hank Nuwer, won first place entry in the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists 2021 competition for his “Near Darke” column.

We hope that you will join us for Homecoming weekend from October 18-23. We can share memories and create some new ones as we experience the joy of finally being together in-person. Connect with area residents during this weekly free meal (there’s always plenty). This is a great way to learn about what is going on in the 8twelve service area and to meet community leaders and residents.
Muncie Public Library to host Scarecrow Festival Oct. 2

The Muncie Public Library will hold its Third Annual Scarecrow Festival from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Maring-Hunt Library Gateway to Gardening Pavilions. The library is looking for 5-8 volunteers to help at various booths and with games for kids. Don’t want to volunteer? No problem! Come compete or walk around and enjoy the day’s festivities.
