    • Digging Deeper: Translating “Ordinary” Experiences into Research
      • Have you ever wondered why people share selfies with their social media feeds, or perhaps why your boss or teachers try to be “cool”? Maybe you’ve been confused by why your friend gives you the silent treatment instead of telling you why they’re upset with you, or angry with the way marginalized groups are represented in media. Each of these curiosities is an example of an everyday, ordinary experience we all have, and they are the types of questions that lead to research. In this talk, Dr. Holly Holladay will share how research is a natural conclusion to the things we already think about and how her own questions and life experiences encouraged her to pursue research through graduate education.
