Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning, with 45 years of teaching experience in architecture and urban design.\u00a0 Professor Eggink earned his B. Arch at Ball State (a former classmate of David Letterman) and his M. Arch at Harvard (Urban Design), a Fulbright Scholar to Finland for graduate studies, and a former student of the School of Fine Arts and Architecture in Fontainebleau, France. Harry\u2019s exemplary teaching in environmental design, design communication, and studio courses has helped students throughout his tenure discover architecture as an art form and a science, thinking innovatively in exploring design solutions. Harry\u2019s work and passion for Community-Based Projects (CBP) is evidenced in practice in his involvement in CBP\u2019s throughout Indiana and the East Coast, and in his scholarly work as well. Harry continues to maintain a small architectural firm, since 1983.\u00a0 He has also practiced in Germany, and Boston, and lectured nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1190\" src=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153428\/Fick_Janet-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"97\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153428\/Fick_Janet-280x300.jpg 280w, https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153428\/Fick_Janet.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 90px) 100vw, 90px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Janet Fick<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Janet Fick, an Associate Lecturer in the Construction Management program, has focused her teaching on immersive projects and was recognized with an Immersive Learning award. Her students certified two campus buildings through USGBC\u2019s LEED\u00ae Lab program, and have designed and\/or renovated 47 projects in Muncie through a continuing partnership with local non-profits, including Habitat for Humanity, ecoREHAB and Muncie Mission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1189 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153427\/Frankel_Bruce-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"97\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153427\/Frankel_Bruce-280x300.jpg 280w, https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153427\/Frankel_Bruce.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 90px) 100vw, 90px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bruce Frankel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A self-described advocate for students, Dr. Bruce Frankel\u2019s engagements made contributions to this University, its external constituencies, and his own development. A community organizer, his work saved our downtown historic district and mitigated pollution on our south side. A collaboration with IHCDA, Bruce established the My Community, My Vision statewide program introducing high school students to urban planning and civic leadership. Relying on his 25 years of full-time practice he formulated with seven disciplines in four colleges the RED program, and mentored students at all levels to achieve finalist or winning positions in intercollegiate real estate competitions at statewide and international levels in every year since 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1187 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153425\/Grondzik_Walter-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153425\/Grondzik_Walter-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153425\/Grondzik_Walter.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 90px) 100vw, 90px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Walter Grondzik<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Walter Grondzik, PE is a Professor of Architecture who has been in higher education since 1977. Walter has shared his knowledge and expertise in environmental technologies with students with the intent of improving building performance and occupant experiences. She is the daughter of an engineer and a musician. Her brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, children and grand-children have filled her life with joy and she is eternally grateful to be part of this constellation.\u00a0 Jody&#8217;s professional and artistic journey is one of pursuing possibilities to connect people with the earth, a tendency developed as a child and young adult growing up in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Jody finished her landscape architecture studies at Harvard University.\u00a0 Her LA practice in community and urban design emerged as one of influence over 20 years of award-winning practice.\u00a0 The outcome from numerous collaborations brought Jody to the attention of Texas A&amp;M University where she was recruited as a researcher and professor, and to Ball State University where she was recruited to head the Department of Landscape Architecture at Ball State University. Always wanting to help others, Professor Rosenblatt Naderi brought her pragmatic research, teaching and business skills to form many friendships across Ball State University, collaboration in the arts, sciences and education that she has cherished over the last ten years.\u00a0 Jody now works as an artist and landscape architect in the unceded territories of British Columbia and returns to Canada to continue her global studies for her ceramic &#8216;Atlas of Contemplative Walks&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1191\" src=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153429\/Perera_Nihal-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153429\/Perera_Nihal-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/bsu-wpe-blogs.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/04\/19153429\/Perera_Nihal.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 90px) 100vw, 90px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nihal Perera<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Perera, known for his expertise in Southeast Asian history and planning, is the founder of the department\u2019s most heralded field studies experience, a semester study abroad dubbed CapAsia. That program has garnered three Fulbright-Hays awards, and Perera himself served as a Fulbright scholar twice in China and later in Myanmar.<\/p>\n<p>The author of three books about Asian cities and the way people use space in a post-colonial world, Perera has authored dozens of book chapters and journal articles in his long career and has served as a visiting scholar or researcher at a dozen universities.
