Forbes magazine has recognized Ball State University as a top employer in Indiana.
Working with the market research company Statista, Forbes compiled 51 lists – one for each state and Washington, D.C. – of employers best liked by their employees. Ball State ranked No. 27 of 80 employers in Indiana for “America’s Best Employers By State.”
“We’re pleased with this recognition but not surprised,” said Rose Costello, associate vice president for human resources. “At Ball State, we foster an environment of empowerment, mutual accountability, shared values, and a sense of belonging.”
“We are committed to having a positive and vibrant culture of wellbeing that helps our faculty and staff lead engaged and meaningful lives.”

Statista surveyed 80,000 Americans working for organizations with at least 500 employees. To receive candid feedback, Statista asked respondents to complete the survey anonymously, rating various factors such as safety of the workplace, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement, and openness to telecommuting. Workers also said whether they would recommend their employers to other people and nominated organizations outside their own field. The final list has employers with the largest number of recommendations.
